An invitation to collaboration
Community conversations
As part of our ongoing efforts to listen to and learn from the social work community, we are inviting social workers to share their experiences with social work licensing and the licensing exams.
The Social Work Licensure Compact
“A social work interstate compact, like those already in place for other professions such as psychology, nursing, and physical therapy, will offer important advantages to social workers who live and work in different states, who plan to relocate, or who hope to expand the services they offer,” says ASWB CEO Stacey Hardy-Chandler Ph.D., JD, LCSW.
Regulatory research
ASWB is taking action to fund additional research that can inform regulatory administration and deepen understanding of how to ensure greater equity within the profession’s systems. To do this, ASWB invites the social work community to participate in these research initiatives and be part of advancing public protection and professional accountability.
Exams for the future of social work
ASWB is collaborating with the social work community to bring more perspectives, including those of individuals representing diverse racial, social, economic, geographic, and ethnic backgrounds, into the exam development process. The association is launching these initiatives to build on current practices.
