Please give a brief biography, including your education, licensure or certification level and employment history:

I am a 1983 University of Kansas graduate. I attended the MSW program for BSW credit as a married student. I also completed the equivalent of a psychology degree from the University of Missouri’s LPC program. I have maintained a Kansas and/or Missouri social work license since 1983. I developed the Therapeutic Foster Care pilot program for the State of Kansas and several years later developed a similar program for the State of Missouri. I worked with several agencies during this 20-year period. I then changed into working with older adults. I have worked in this field for the past 20 years, working at several hospices and now as the Older Adult Care Manager for Jewish Family Services. I still have several Holocaust survivors in my caseload.

Give a synopsis of your regulatory and professional experience. Please emphasize your involvement with ASWB:

I was appointed to the Missouri Social Work Committee by the governor in December of 2014. I attended the ASWB New Board Member training in 2015. I have tried to attend all education and annual meetings since 2015, missing very few. I served one year on the Continued Competence Committee in 2019. I have had excellent attendance with my own board, only missing one or two meetings in the past 10 years.

Finally, make a brief statement on the major issues you see facing ASWB, and how you would address them:

I am currently serving as the Nominating Chair to the Women in Politics Foundation. I have also served many years on the nominating committees for the Missouri Women’s Political Caucus and the Greater Kansas City Women’s Political Caucus. I understand how important it is to find the right people for the right positions. With DEI being such an important issue with our businesses, organizations, committees, and foundations, it is crucial that we have the most qualified people serving in those roles.
